Detroit Office of Early Learning

Do you need a place for your student to do their virtual schoolwork during the day?

None of this is easy. You're doing great.

School age learning hubs aim to support families who have children age 5 through 12, who are enrolled in a K-12 school located in the City of Detroit, offering only a virtual or hybrid model for their students.

Learners will have opportunity to complete work in a licensed childcare site with access to receive supports.

Financial Support

If your child receives free/reduced lunch, they likely qualify for a learning-hub scholarship. Chat with us to find out.

Tools & Coaches

All families participating in Learning Hubs will be supported by SOARS coach as well as accessing additional resources

Health & Saftey

All licensed child care providers are following additional COVID-19 restrictions (individual response plans can be shared with enrolled families)

It's okay to ask for help.

It takes a village.

For the last three years, the Detroit SOARS Childcare Scholarship Program has provided resources and tuition assistance to Detroit Families with children up to 5 years old in accessing high quality 4 to 5 star rated early learning settings.

To meet the needs of families and educators, the SOARS Childcare Scholarships are now being expanded to cover the needs of Detroit’s school age youth of families that are eligible for Michigan Child Care Subsidy.

With the voluntary commitment by quality early learning and care providers (with three to five stars) operating in Detroit, our collaborative is working alongside schools, community-based partners, and child care providers to identify eligible families.
